The hotel is anticipated to open in the autumn
There’s exciting news for Asia-based snow bunnies on the horizon with the announcement that luxury hotel group Anantara will be opening a ski hotel at Xiling Snow Mountain in Chengdu, China.
Anantara Xiling Snow Mountain Chengdu Resort is the group’s first foray into Sichuan province in the southwest of the country. The project is a joint collaboration between Anantara parent company Minor Hotels and Sichuan Dexinhousheng Enterprise Management. The hotel is slated to open in October, just in time for the winter season.
Surrounded by nature, guests can enjoy skiing at Xiling Snow Mountain, with apres-ski relaxation at the ancient Huashauiwan hot springs. The hotel is also just 20 minutes from the renowned Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding where visitors can view giant and red pandas.
Rooms and suites at Anantara Xiling Snow Mountain Chengdu Resort will have access to piped hot spring water and facilities will include a pool, spa, wellness centre and entertainment area.
Dining spots will feature a Chinese restaurant, an all-day dining venue and a specialty restaurant - full details have yet to be revealed.
“Anantara guests expect a blend of local heritage and modern luxury wherever they are in the world, making this prestigious project the perfect fit,” said Eddy Tiftik, Minor Hotel’s vice president of Operations and Development for Greater China.
It’s hoped the new property will boost local tourism as well as showcasing the beauty and culture of Chengdu.
