A new hotel for Singapore is on the cards with the announcement this month that Avani Hotels & Resorts will be opening a property in the Lion City.
This will be the Thai-based group’s debut in Singapore and the launch is currently scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
The 13-storey, 200-key hotel is a collaboration between Minor Hotels, which owns Avani Hotels & Resorts, Singapore-based Kajima Development and Abu Dhabi-based Alwathba Investment.
The hotel will be located on Peck Seah Street in Tanjong Pagar district, a stroll from Singapore’s Central Business District and the historic Chinatown area. Conveniently located, the hotel will be just 200m from Tanjong Pagar MRT station and 350m from Maxwell MRT station. The hotel will target both business and leisure travellers to Singapore.
“Avani Singapore represents a strategic market entry for Minor Hotels,” commented Minor Hotels boss Dillip Rajakarier. “We’re honoured to have our partners Kajima and Alwathba alongside us as we venture into Singapore’s hospitality sector. Their industry expertise and market knowledge will ensure the delivery of an exceptional hotel experience, creating a vibrant base for business and leisure travellers.”
Avani Hotels & Resorts is one of Minor Hotel’s eight brands. It launched in 2011 and there are currently 42 Avani hotels in 24 countries. Minor plans to expand Avani’s footprint to just shy of 100 hotels and resorts by the end of 2026. Openings are scheduled in Thailand, China and the Seychelles later this year.
