British Original service on board British Airways

Getting into the summer holiday spirit on board.

A British Original service including complimentary ice cream and other summer treats has been launched by British Airways in time for the holidays.

The airline is offering all its passengers an ice cream on daytime flights departing from London Heathrow and London Gatwick before 5pm. The ice cream is churned in nearby Hampshire by British brand, Jude’s, and flavours include vanilla, strawberries and cream, chocolate and salted caramel.

Families can take advantage of a dedicated ‘Summer Fun’ channel for children as part of British Airways' inflight entertainment programme. Movies include Mummies, Luca, Avatar: The Way of Water and a special Barbie channel.

A lighter summer menu will see dishes such as prawn cocktails, grilled halibut, berry bread and butter pudding and raspberry panna cotta served across First and World Premier Plus cabins. And sparkling wine pre-take off is being reintroduced for World Premier Plus passengers.

Passengers flying premium classes can also look forward to an exclusive Whispering Angel rose bar in Heathrow Terminal 5. Plans for the bar were recently revealed but no opening date has been announced so far - watch this space.
