Discovery Bay is partying hard this Christmas with the outlying island embracing a packed calendar of fun festive family events.

‘Christmas Wonderland @ Discovery Bay’ kicks off this week with the lighting of the Discovery Bay Christmas tree on Friday November 25. The ten-metre tree stands pride of place in the plaza and there will be parades, singing, dance performances and even a snow spectacle as it's lit. The tree lighting ceremony runs from 6 to 7.30pm at DB North Plaza and Amphitheatre.
Channel a European Christmas vibe in the ‘Wonderland Winter Snow’, a flurry of flakes which will be falling every weekend throughout December. Enjoy a snowy evening by the beach and even chat and take a photo with the big fella himself at the Santa Meet & Greet. The ‘Santa Meet & Greet' will take place on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at DB North Plaza. And on Christmas Eve, carolers will also be amping-up the festive ambiance.
Discovery Bay’s Christmas Sunday Markets are back this year, offering the opportunity for a spot of Christmas shopping from local vendors on November 27 and December 11, 11am to 6pm at DB Plaza. Tuck into Christmas food and drink while you browse handmade goods, homewares and clothing. There will also be music and dance performances to add to the festive atmosphere.
The Christmas Moonlit Movies will also be making a return. Lie back under the stars on Tai Pak Beach and enjoy a collection of Christmas classics. Screenings take place every Thursday to Sunday throughout December, and between 6 and 10.30pm depending on the session.
Discovery Bay’s ice rink will be hosting the ‘Joyous Christmas on Ice’ figure-skating show with more than 100 local skating school students performing festive stories. Shows run 5 to 6pm on December 17-18, Discovery Bay Ice Rink.
And Lost escape rooms will be presenting Christmas-themed rooms - solve the festive puzzles to set yourself free. The Christmas edition rooms are available from December 2 to January 3, 2023, DB Plaza Shop G11A-1. Tickets are priced at HK$120 for a 20-minute session.
The Christmas European Town decorations at Discovery Bay run from November 25 to January 2, 2023, DB Plaza, DB North Plaza and D'Deck. Discovery Bay can be reached by catching a ferry from the DBay Pier at Central Ferry Piers, Central, Hong Kong.
