Phuket is set to welcome another luxury development. Hospitality brand Dusit International has revealed plans to open a resort and residential complex on the island’s west coast.
Dusit Collection and Dusit Residences Layan Verde will be located just under a kilometre from Bang Tao Beach and close to Dusit’s existing Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket resort.
The Layan Verde development project will consist of 15 mid-rise buildings. The resort, Dusit Collection - Layan Verde, will include five buildings offering 398 rooms. It will be the first property to be signed under Dusit’s new luxury Dusit Collection brand. A further five buildings will be managed as Dusit Residences - Layan Verde.
Phuket is currently undergoing something of a property boom. Banyan Tree recently announced a US$2 billion residential development and Amal Group is in the process of building a US$315 million development. Both projects are located at Bang Tao Beach.
Guests and residents at Layan Verde will have access to an all-day restaurant, fitness centre, pool, kids’ club and rooftop bar. The project will also feature a shopping centre and ocean club.
The development will adhere to a ‘biophilic architecture’ concept with a focus on energy efficiency and environmental conservation. Water and electricity consumption will be reduced by up to 45% through the use of advanced ‘EDGE’ computer data processing technology to manage supply.
Sirakej Donavanik, vice president of Dusit International Global Development, described the project as “a world-class offering that caters to the discerning needs of locals, residents, guests and investors alike. This project perfectly complements our existing Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket resort and further strengthens our commitment to providing exceptional hospitality experiences in Phuket.”
Dusit has a portfolio of 301 properties in 18 countries, including 57 properties under Dusit Hotels and Resorts and 244 luxury villas under Elite Havens. More than 60 Dusit hotels and resorts are currently in the pipeline.
Dusit Collection and Dusit Residences Layan Verde is scheduled to open in 2027.
