Emirates has opened a refurbished lounge at Hong Kong airport

It’s been a busy month but we finally had a peek at the new-look Emirates Lounge at Hong Kong airport this week.

The refurbished lounge officially opened earlier this spring. Due to the evening departure times of Emirates flights, it opens from 3pm onwards, serving two daily direct flights from Hong Kong to Dubai and a third daily service via Bangkok.

The lounge is located on level seven adjacent to gate 40 and a short walk from the Emirates departure gates. The refurbishment aligns with the airline’s ‘Fly Better’ branding and is available to first and business class passengers and eligible Emirates Skywards members.

The space offers a range of seating options, from plush chairs to comfy sofas. Further facilities include complimentary WiFi, showers and a prayer room.

Gearing up for our eight-hour flight to Dubai, we enjoyed relaxing in the spacious lounge as well as digging in at the buffet counter. There was a wide range of hot and cold options; the salmon was beautifully cooked and made a perfect late supper with a side of salad before boarding our midnight flight.

There were plenty of Middle Eastern, Western and Asian options and the Indian-style curries were hugely tempting. Despite not wanting to overload before boarding, we did enjoy a sneaky spoonful or three. For those with a sweet tooth, there were some yummy Hong Kong dessert options.

Emirates has also reinstated its chauffeur service for business class passengers in Hong Kong. A handy pick-up and drop-off service is offered in both the departure and arrival city.

Both the new-look lounge and the chauffeur service proved to be a smooth start to a long, but extremely comfortable, journey.
