Fly for free in the Maldives

Winter blues Maldives-style.

If you’re heading to the Maldives this winter, five Accor resorts are now offering free domestic flights and daily breakfasts.

Resorts including Fairmont, Movenpick, Raffles, Pullman and Mercure and managed by hospitality group Accor are now all offering complimentary domestic return transfers from Malé International Airport plus daily breakfast as part of Accor’s ‘For the Love of Barefoot Luxury’ special offer.

The thousands of stunning Maldivian islands are spread across a vast area of the Indian Ocean, which means holidaymakers must make transfer arrangements to reach their resort after landing in Malé.

Raffles Maldives Meradhoo is located in the southernmost reach of the country, which equates to a 55-minute domestic flight plus a 15-minute speedboat ride. In the north, Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi requires a 55-minute seaplane flight from Malé. And Movenpick Resort Kuredhivaru Maldives, also in the north, is a 45-minute seaplane ride from Malé. However, its relative seclusion is worth the journey as the resort is set alongside the undisturbed Noonu Atoll, promising visitors the chance to experience an abundance of sea life.

The all-inclusive Pullman Maldives Maamutaa resort is a 55-minute flight and 20-minute speedboat ride south of Malé. And Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort - a 55-minute flight away from the airport - is the only beachfront property directly accessible by domestic flight without a speedboat transfer.

All in all, holidaymakers can save upwards of US$1,000 on return transfers.

The offer is valid for up to two people and on bookings from now until December 16 for stays of minimum of five nights until December 23. Accor Plus members will be able to take advantage of a further ten per cent discount on accommodation. Bookings can be made online.
