Passengers in Hong Kong are able to check-in baggage before arriving at the airport
Hong Kong’s MTR Corporation has announced that it will be expanding its in-town check-in service to include Kowloon Station from this week.
The service has been suspended for almost four years but from June 6, Cathay Pacific passengers will once again be able to check-in baggage at Kowloon Station. The service will be available between 6am and 3pm.
In-town check-in services resumed at Hong Kong Station last summer with opening hours recently extended from 6am to 11pm. Currently the service is only open to Cathay Pacific passengers, but from June 7, travellers flying with Hong Kong Airlines will also be able to use the check-in facilities. The check-in service for Hong Kong Airlines’ passengers at Hong Kong Station will be available from 6am to 7pm.
There has been no mention of check-in services resuming at Tsing Yi station.
Passengers can check-in up to 24 hours in advance of their flight or as late as 90 minutes before departure. Smart check-in kiosks are available for speedy check-in and collection of boarding passes and luggage tags. Once check-in is completed, passengers can leave their bags at the self-drop baggage counters.
Between June 6 and July 5, passengers who use the check-in facilities at either Hong Kong or Kowloon Station will receive a free MTR single ticket for use up to one month from the issue date.
