State-of-the-art lighting and water systems make House of Dancing Water a show to remember

Macau’s popular aquatic show, ‘House of Dancing Water’, is set to make a splash in Hong Kong’s neighbouring SAR with the news that it’s returning to City of Dreams this spring.

The show was cancelled in 2020 due to Covid restrictions and there were plans for it to make a comeback in 2024. However, it is now confirmed that it will return in May with new sequences and audience participation.

House of Dancing Water premiered in 2010 using a 270-degree amphitheatre-style setting with hydraulic platforms, state-of-the-art lighting and advanced water systems to create an immersive and fun show. Those seated in the front rows were invited to wear a waterproof poncho for some of the water-based acts.

According to artistic director Giuliano Peparini, the reimagined show will contain “innovative scenes, more characters, special performances and surprises”. There will also be a degree of pre-show interaction with cast members interacting with the audience. The acrobatics, dances and water stunts will be performed by a cast and crew of 300 from more than 30 countries.

It’s hoped the return of ‘House of Dancing Water’ will promote the development of arts and culture in Macau.

“We firmly believe that the incomparable experience offered by House of Dancing Water will shape Macau into a live performance destination, attracting tourists from around the world and supporting the government’s initiatives to sustain Macau’s positioning as the ‘World Centre of Tourism and Leisure’,” said Lawrence Ho, chief executive officer of Melco Resorts and Entertainment, parent group of Macau’s integrated resort City of Dreams.

The reimagined ‘House of Dancing Water’ is set to premier in May at City of Dreams, Macau. Tickets are available online from March 10.
