Mandarin Oriental, Suzhou is located by the city's Jinji lake
Mandarin Oriental is to open a family-friendly property in the Chinese city of Suzhou on the country’s eastern seaboard.
The Jiangsu Province-based city is historically and culturally one of China’s most significant ancient cities and the new hotel will complement Mandarin Oriental Group’s expanding portfolio in the Yangtze River Delta.
The new property will be located on the east bank of Suzhou’s Jinji lake with panoramic water views. It has been designed as a low-rise sanctuary and will be surrounded by gardens, parks and lakeside walkways.
The hotel combines both business and leisure facilities, welcoming families with an “extensive” children’s club offering education, sports and entertainment for families.
Mandarin Oriental Suzhou will also have three restaurants, a lounge, bar and cakeshop, al fresco dining with lake views and a spa and wellness centre featuring an indoor swimming pool. Accommodation includes both rooms and suites, many with private balconies.
“Alongside our existing property in Shanghai and our upcoming openings in Hangzhou and Nanjing, Mandarin Oriental, Suzhou will further introduce our fans to exceptional experiences throughout the Yangtze River Delta,” said Laurent Kleitman, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s group chief executive.
Mandarin Oriental, Suzhou is slated to open in 2026.
