Singapore’s Sentosa Island is set to unveil the region's tallest fountain as part of a new attraction, 'Central Beach Bazaar'.
Mount Faber Leisure Group is behind the new lifestyle destination, which it describes as a “day-to-night carnival beach experience”. It’s slated to launch in September.
Central Beach Bazaar will include International Food Street, an 80m Sentosa SkyJet (which will be the tallest fountain in Southeast Asia) and a revamped version of the much-loved Sentosa Musical Fountain of the 1980s and ‘90s.
A further attraction boasting simulation rides and carnival games has yet to be revealed.
At the height of a 24-storey building, the Sentosa SkyJet will become a new landmark on the Sentosa skyline. The jet will float on a sea platform anchored to the seabed and at night will be illuminated by an underwater projector with LED lights. It's positioned adjacent to the stage for The Wings of Time nighttime show and will complement the laser light and pyrotechnic performance.
Meanwhile, the reimagined Musical Fountain will operate from 11am to 4.30pm with two, five-minute performances every hour backed by pop music from the ‘90s and patriotic medleys of Singapore’s National Day songs.
Entry to the Sentosa SkyJet and Sentosa Musical Fountain is free-of-charge with every minimum spend of S$5 at the International Food Street.
International Food Street at Central Beach Bazaar will comprise eight dining concepts housed in food trucks, kombi vans and shipping containers. Grab-and-go dishes will all be priced under S$10, including British bangers and mash, Mexican chillies and tortillas, Japanese skewers and more.
