Fun times are here again in Phuket.
Phuket will shortly be welcoming a brand new beach club.
‘Carpe Diem’ is slated to open later this winter and is perhaps another sign of life finally returning to normal on the holiday island.
Co-founders Benny de Bellis and Bruce Hanrahan say they are “thrilled” to be adding to the rejuvenation of Bang Tao Beach, one of Phuket’s most popular beaches.
The eight kilometre stretch of golden sand is already home to resorts including Banyan Tree, Angsana and the Laguna Phuket integrated resort.
“We’re excited to offer a place that appeals to a slightly more mature and sophisticated crowd in Phuket,” said De Bellis, who previously managed Catch Beach Club, Siam Supper Club and Opus One. He has most recently established and ran Benny’s Cocktails & Grill, an American-style steakhouse.
Carpe Diem Beach Club boasts an all-day restaurant serving a “fresh, rustic and modern” Mediterranean menu, with dishes De Bellis enjoyed growing up in Italy and southern Spanish influences. A sophisticated environment will be complemented by daily DJ sessions. Or soak up the ocean views from a sunbed with a cocktail or two and enjoy the club’s full beach service.
“An excellent beach club experience is not just about the stunning setting of Phuket, but also about the ambience, service, cuisine and beverages,” said Hanrahan. “It’s these attributes that bring people here to live and invest so Phuket becomes more than a holiday destination.”
The Phuket sandbox was introduced in 2021 and enables holidaymakers to enjoy the island without having to undergo quarantine. Thailand is also due to relaunch its Test & Go programme from February 1, which means travellers will be able to enter the country quarantine-free with a test on days one and five.
