NH Maldives Kuda Rah Resort

NH Maldives Kuda Rah offers villa and suite accommodation

Minor Hotels has revealed it will be opening another Maldives property next month.

NH Maldives Kuda Rah Resort is slated to open on September 1 in an atoll teeming with marine life, including turtles, reef sharks, manta rays and whale sharks.

South Ari Atoll is a renowned hot spot for some of the Maldives’ largest marine wildlife and offers more than 50 dive sites, most of which are just a short boat ride from the resort. The Kuda Rah Thila, an underwater pinnacle, is a mecca for majestic marine life and a rainbow of coloured corals.

The resort is a 25-minute seaplane ride from Male. The hideaway has just 51 suites and villas designed with solid wood floors and calming whites and creams with ocean-blue accents.

The family-friendly resort welcomes children with both a kids’ club and babysitting services.

Dining spots include Sea Spray with ocean views and an international buffet-style menu, serving dishes throughout the day.

Ocean showcases fresh-caught seafood and diners can handpick their catch of the day, from lobster and prawns to fish. Dishes can also be customised using the restaurant's interactive dining options.

The resort bar, Glow, overlooks the central infinity pool and Malaa, an open-air show kitchen, offers Maldivian cuisine created through cooking classes. Bespoke beachside and in-villa dining experiences can also be arranged.

No self-respecting Maldivian resort opens without a spa and the space at Kuda Rah focuses on Balinese and Thai massage techniques in its three treatment rooms, each one equipped with a private steam room and jacuzzi. There are also dedicated manicure and pedicure rooms.

Best time to visit the Maldives

Late autumn through to April are recommended if you're looking for sunshine, with January to April the driest period. For surfers, the wetter months of June and July see the best waves. For divers, whale shark and ray spotting is good in October and November and underwater visibility improves from autumn onwards as the country moves into dry season.

Hong Kong Airlines currently flies direct three times a week between Hong Kong and Male airports, the flight time is approximately six hours and 55 minutes.
