Let’s face it, hotel quarantine isn't on anyone's bucket list. But it's not all bad. Gayatri Bhaumik checks into eight properties that are injecting a little stardust into self-isolation.
Ovolo Southside
All the bells and whistles at Ovolo Southside.
If you do have to quarantine, there’s probably no better place to do it than this Southside hotel. Ovolo’s recently-introduced Quarantine Concierge package offers perhaps the most comprehensive isolation service in Hong Kong.
While holed up in one of the hotel’s peppy rooms, you’ll stay entertained with Alex and Appt TV, have access to whatever fitness equipment your heart desires, stay sane with a Mindfulness Kit, or perhaps enjoy the company of some potted plants – your concierge can make all of this happen and more.
Each day, you’ll get a bag of snacks; each evening, you’ll sip on a sundowner cocktail. Of course, you’ll be treated to in-room breakfasts each day, and also enjoy $1,000 dining credit to spend at the hotel’s innovative restaurants. Anything else you need, the concierge can grab during the Daily Essential Run – so if you need some Marks & Sparks snacks or a good book, they’ll take care of it.
How much: From $15,000 for 14 nights, depending on room and dates.

Cleanliness is key here - comprehensive measures are taken every day so you can rest in safety in the comfort of your (really quite spacious) room. Things to note: breakfast and laundry is included for Superior Room bookings and up, so be prepared to order lots of Deliveroo.
Also useful to know is that children under 18 can stay here without an adult if necessary. This property is also a good option for gym-goers as you can have fitness equipment sent up to your room.
