Island hideaway Raffles Maldives Meradhoo opens

Raffles Maldives Meradhoo

Beachside bliss at Raffles Royal Residence in the Maldives.

The super-luxe Raffles Maldives Meradhoo has unveiled a seriously sumptuous new guest accommodation, the Raffles Royal Residence.

Located at the southernmost tip of the Maldives in the remote atoll of Gaafu Alifu, the resort originally opened in 2019, but was forced to close due to the pandemic.

If you’re travelling with family, the six-bedroom Royal Residence takes some beating. Occupying a stretch of pristine sand on the resort’s Beach Island, the villa stretches over 1,700sqm and can accommodate up to 15 guests. Perfect if you’re going ‘multi-generational’.

Three reception rooms border the 40m pool with views over the property’s private beach.

The stunning interiors have been designed by Singapore-based BLINK - think luxe colonial beach house style, with striped monsoon blinds, louvered doors, coral patterns woven into the upholstery and ecologically-friendly decorations replicating turtle shells, sea urchins and starfish.

Swim out to the resort’s stunning house reefs or take a private boat trip with a Raffles Maldives Meradhoo Marine Butler, or take a moment for yourself and head over to the overwater spa for a treatment.

For younger guests, Children’s Butlers can be enlisted to organise a multitude of activities.
