The new Rosewood property will open in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has its sights set on the Middle East with the news that it will be launching a property in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh.
Rosewood Riyadh will be located at Diriyah Gate, a mixed-use development in the city and adjacent to the UNESCO World Heritage site of At-Turaif. The property is slated to open in 2025.
Rosewood Riyadh will be the group’s second property in Saudi Arabia, following Rosewood Jeddah.
Riyadh is the largest city on the Arabian Peninsula and is the political and administrative centre of Saudi Arabia. Rich with history, it boasts forts and palaces, museums and marketplaces.
Facilities at Rosewood Riyadh will include 250 keys, including more than 200 guest rooms and 48 one- to three-bedroom Wadi Suites. Four restaurants and bars and a fitness centre will also be offered, as well as a 'Rosewood Explorers', Rosewood’s children’s club.
“We’re thrilled to further our presence in the Middle East with the opening in Riyadh, an historic trade hub and exemplar of 21st century vision, that is now a major destination for international business and cultural exploration,” said Rosewood Hotel Group’s chief executive, Sonia Cheng.
Diriyah Gate is set to include a culinary centre, cinema and art academy, and has been designed to showcase Saudi Arabia’s Najdi architectural style.
Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has no fewer than 25 new properties in the pipeline. Rosewood Riyadh is the eighth property launch to be announced this year. Recent projects include properties in Rome, Miyakojima, Hangzhou, Chongqing, Mexico City and San Francisco.
