Saudi Arabia announces Treyam, a spectacular NEOM lagoon resort destination

Saudi Arabia announces Treyam a NEOM destination

The stunning 450m infinity sky pool at Treyam

Saudi Arabia is forging ahead with plans to become a premier tourist destination with the unveiling this week of Treyam, a luxury lagoon resort which is part of the huge NEOM destination project.

Billed as ‘elevated heaven’ Treyam boasts the world’s longest sky pool at nearly half-a-kilometre long and sits in a stunning location on the coast where desert lagoon meets ocean. Treyam is part of the huge NEOM development currently under construction in northwest Saudi Arabia.

Treyam is located at the southern end of the Gulf of Aqaba with striking, bridge like architecture that connects the northern and southern shores of the 250-room luxury resort. The upper and lower floors will soak-up superb panoramic views of the tidal lagoon below.

Amenities include the 450m infinity pool on the rooftop as well as plenty of activities that make the most of the location, including sailing, diving and land-based activities. There will also be a luxury spa and fine dining spaces.

“Strategically located across the opening of one of the most beautiful, azure lagoons in the southern end of the Gulf of Aqaba, Treyam stands as a luxury gateway inviting guests to experiment with active lifestyles,” commented the team behind Treyam.

The new resort is part of the massive NEOM development on the Red Sea

NEOM is a huge mixed-use city development on the Red Sea including ports, enterprise zones, research centres, sports and entertainment venues and tourist destinations.

Saudi Arabia is going all out to welcome tourism to the conservative kingdom and further developing tourist sites include Al Ula, Diryah and Qiddiyah. Scores of global luxury hotel brands have launched or are set to launch resorts in Saudi, including Rosewood, Shangri-La and Banyan Tree

In 2022 the kingdom unveiled plans for an audacious ski resort in the country’s arid Tabuk mountain ranges. Trojena, also part of the NEOM development, will sit 2,600m above sea level and has already been chosen to host the 2029 Winter Asian Games, making Saudi the first Arabic-speaking nation to host a winter sporting event.

Last year Saudi Arabia launched a new airline, Riyadh Air. The carrier will eventually fly to more than 100 destinations worldwide.

So far no launch date for Treyam has been revealed - watch this space.
