Support Cambodia's wildlife, win a Bensley Collection break

Cardamom National Park's rangers at work.

Bill Bensley, maverick resort designer and passionate environmentalist, has launched a conservation fundraiser with a US$11,000 prize.

And it's all to support Asia's endangered wildlife.

The Bensley Collection - Shinta Mani Wild luxury tented camp located in Cambodia's South Cardamom National Park, along with the Shinta Mani Foundation, work tirelessly to fund eight Wildlife Alliance rangers and a ranger station at the camp.

The rangers are integral to helping to protect the 865 acres of park from illegal logging and wildlife poaching.

Some of Cambodia’s, and indeed the world’s, most endangered species live in the Cardamom mountains, including 54 animals on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s ‘red list’.

The goal of Shinta Mani Wild and the Wildlife Alliance is to help these species to thrive again.

In the last two months alone, more than 3,500 snares have been removed from the forests, ten fires put out, 208 chainsaws, 1,767 pieces of illegal timber and 11 guns confiscated, more than 400 illegal fences have been dismantled and 82 turtles and ten civet cats rescued.

Bensley is now inviting donors to come forward and pledge US$100 for a shirt or US$500 for a jacket that he has custom designed. Not only will the money be used to support Wildlife Alliance, donors will also be entered into the Go Wild For Wildlife Raffle to win a luxe Bensley Collection break.

The shirts and jackets are part of an upcycled collection recently launched by Bensley. The design of the denim jackets is made-to-order and the vintage safari shirts are block-printed by hand with prints inspired by a series of watercolour paintings by Bensley of the forest’s rare and endangered species.

Donate US$500 per jacket or US$100 per shirt online and Bensely's team will be in touch for size and design details.

Donors will also be in with the chance of winning a six-night stay at Bensley Collection hotels in Cambodia for two, including three nights in a Shinta Mani Wild Waterfall Tent and three nights at Shinta Mani Siem Reap in a Pool Villa. The prize includes domestic flights, airport transfers and VIP immigration services.

A runners up prize includes three nights at Bensley Collection Siem Reap for two people.

Both stays are valid for three years until April 22, 2024, subject to availability.

The raffle winners will be announced live on Instagram at 8pm, Thailand-time, on Earth Day, April 22.
