Class-time with the sand between your toes.
The Standard Hua Hin has opened a children's club at its seaside resort in Thailand’s popular Hua Hin district on the northern Malay Peninsula.
More than your run-of-the-mill kids' club, The Hut at The Standard Hua Hin will be partnering with Elate, a Bangkok learning institute that specialises in STEAM learning programmes, covering science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics. Elate STEAM-based sessions will mesh with The Hut's weekly changing activity menu, which includes fun activities designed to promote curiosity and learning. Items on the weekly programme include beach buggy racing, sandcastle buildings and kite and tote bag design workshops.
While The Hut is open every day to hotel guests, the supervised two-hour Elate sessions will take place on Saturday afternoons and will be available to the wider community.
“The Hut’s Saturday sessions are for everyone,” explained Mai Timblick, chief creative officer at The Standard Hotels. “Long-stay guests, local community and weekenders visiting from Bangkok and further afield - everyone is welcome.”
Villa-life in Hua Hin.
The Standard opened in Hua Hin last year and has since been awarded as one of the top hotels in Asia. The seaside retreat lies just steps from the Gulf of Thailand with room, suite and villa options, a resort pool and a number of dining options. Hua Hin is a popular beach getaway around two hours drive from Bangkok.
The Standard is celebrating The Hut’s launch with an ‘Are You Kidding?’ stay package. It includes a VIP kids’ arrival experience and a free pancake at The Juice Cafe, playtime at The Hut throughout the stay, free-of-charge dining for children selecting from the kids’ menu, a postcard colouring pack with pencils and a selection of toys available on request. Plus, up to two children under 12 can stay for free when sharing the room.
And if the kids are too big to share, book a pool villa and you’ll receive a 50% discount on a canopy villa for the teens when staying for two nights or more.
Elate sessions at The Hut are for children aged five to 12 years and cost THB850 per child. Parents of children attending Elate sessions will receive a 15% discount on food and drink and 25% off spa treatments at the hotel.
