Fun in the rooftop pool at voco Orchard Singapore.
Orchard Road property voco Orchard Singapore, formerly Hilton Singapore, has rebranded, reopened - and is welcoming guests with a new staycation package.
Charming, unstuffy and playful are adjectives used to describe the half-century-old property. Its moniker, ‘voco’, means ‘to invite’ or ‘call together’ in Latin and guests are now being invited to enjoy its refreshed 423 guest rooms, four dining spaces, plus rooftop swimming pool and 24-hour gym. An attractive offering whether you’re visiting the Lion City or enjoying a staycay break.
It may be hard to imagine today, but voco Orchard Singapore stands on land that was previously home to pepper farms, nutmeg plantations and fruit orchards - from which the name ‘Orchard Road’ derives. This history has been woven into the hotel experience; grapefruit and pink peppercorn fragrance the hotel lobby and all guests are offered homemade spiced cookies.
“The spirit of voco Orchard Singapore is defined by its people,” said Mark Winterton, voco Orchard Singapore’s general manager. “Familiar faces of long-serving staff - some of whom have been working at the hotel for over 40 years. After months of preparation, my team and I are looking forward to welcoming guests to voco Orchard Singapore.”
In a nutshell, guests can expect the same - but enhanced - stay and dining experiences as ever.
The ‘voco experience’ package runs until February 28 with rates starting from S$230 per room per night, including breakfast for two adults and a ten percent discount at Opus Bar & Grill. Guests also have the opportunity to join one of the world’s largest hospitality programmes, IHG Rewards. Points can be redeemed at around 6,000 hotels and airlines globally.
