Water World Ocean Park unveiled ahead of summer opening

Water World Ocean Park is now in the final stages of completion.

Hong Kong’s Ocean Park has finally unveiled its highly-anticipated water park attraction.

The park has been four years in the making and used the unveiling ceremony to launch its official logo and tagline - ‘Splash into Adventure’ - as well as Manulife as a main sponsor.

The attraction will be Asia’s first and only year-round, all-weather water park and is aimed at all ages, from young families to older thrill seekers.

Designers have tried to blend the park with its mountainside surroundings.

There will be five zones in all, hosting 27 outdoor and indoor attractions, including Hong Kong’s first surf rider, water chutes and areas specifically designed for young children.

Start your journey at Splendid Reef, an open area overlooking the South China Sea lapping the coast of Hong Kong’s Southside district.

Horizon Cove will host Hong Kong's first indoor wave pool.

If you’re seeking adrenaline adventures, head to Thrill Valley with its extreme slides and freefall drops from the mountain into the valley below. Nearby Torrential River will also offer daredevil rides.

Take a break for al fresco eats and drinks at Adventure Coast.

Younger adventurers are catered for at Hidden Village, which includes the city’s first-ever all-weather indoor wave pool, Horizon Cove by Manulife - think calm, lapping waters as well as the surf-friendly ‘ManulifeMOVE Wave. Horizon Cove will also host live entertainment, such as concerts and other events on the performance stage.

Designers have worked hard to embrace the natural terrain of the park, set at the base of the Ocean Park mountain in Hong Kong’s Southside district and overlooking the ocean.

“Water World is set to bring out the adventurous spirit in all of us,” said Paulo Pong, Ocean Park’s deputy chairman. “We’re so looking forward to welcoming everyone to Water World soon.”

The attraction is set to open later this summer. More information is available at Water World Ocean Park’s official website.
