The Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show
Don't miss the Shetland pony racing at Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show this year
The countdown to the inaugural edition of the Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show has begun with tickets available online now. The event takes place at AsiaWorld-Expo with an action-packed three days of world-class equestrian events, including five-star showjumping, entertainment and plenty of food and drink.
One of the show's major draws is the showjumping and dressage, with 30 international show jumpers competing for more than HK$5 million in prizes. Hong Kong competitors include Hong Kong Jockey Club Equestrian team members Patrick Lam, Jacqueline Lai and Clarissa Lyra. Be sure not to miss the highlight class of the event, the Longines Grand Prix on Sunday night.
And along with regular jumping competitions, ten of the world’s best ‘power jumpers’ will be taking part in the Puissance competition, which is equivalent to a human high jump, with 70 horses flying in from around the world to participate.
Further events include the Shetland Pony Grand National, featuring eight Shetlands competing around a track of jumping obstacles that mimic the world-famous jump race, the Aintree Grand National. And equestrian artist Santi Serra will be performing choreographed shows riding bareback with his four Arabian horses.
Have a go at hobby horse riding at the LeMieux Kid’s Zone and Lifestyle Village and enjoy cooking shows hosted by renowned local chefs at the Chefs’ Theatre. Art Central
Peruse great art at Art Central in March
The popular Art Central art fair will return as part of Hong Kong Art Week in 2025. This year marks the tenth edition of the fair, cementing its position as an important cornerstone of Hong Kong Art Week.
Art Central 2025 will take up its usual position on Central Harbourfront, presenting a wide range of artwork from both new and established artists and Asia’s top art galleries. Art Central is open to art professionals and collectors as well as interested members of the general public.
"As Hong Kong continues to demonstrate its importance as an international destination for arts and culture, we have faith that Hong Kong Art Week 2025 will be a success," said Art Central 2025 fair director Corey Andrew Barr. "We look forward to playing a significant role in nurturing the local arts ecosystem again."
Established in 2015, Art Central has played an important role on the Hong Kong art scene by highlighting both emerging and established artists in Asia and beyond. Along with a varied programme of talks, installations, videos and performance art, Art Central will debut ‘Legend’ in 2025, a programme inviting galleries to showcase the work of artists born before 1970 to spotlight artists from earlier generations. The event will also this year host ten galleries as part of ‘Neo’, focusing on new galleries exhibiting at Art Central.
Art Central 2025 opens in Hong Kong on March 26 and runs to March 30 supported by long-standing partner UOB and curated by Europe-based curator and artist, Enoch Cheng.
More details including artists, galleries, talks, performances and partnerships will be announced soon - watch this space.

Hong Kong Rugby Sevens
Hong Kong Rugby Sevens moves to a brand new stadium this year
Hong Kong’s flagship sports event is back this year and in a new venue. The event is being billed as the ‘same, but better’ and will be taking place in the brand new Kai Tak Sport Park.
Don’t worry, all the favourite features of the event remain in place - but with improvements. The infamous South Stand has had an upgrade and this year there will be more than 30 food and drink outlets including one of Asia’s largest bars. The new stadium also includes a fully retractable roof and an in-stadium cooling system, perfect for the often inclement Hong Kong weather at this time of year.
This year 30 teams will compete at the event. Men’s sides include New Zealand, Argentina, Australia, Fiji, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Kenya, Spain, South Africa, Uruguay and USA, while the women will compete under New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Fiji, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Japan, Spain and the USA. The Melrose Claymores competition will include Hong Kong China Men taking on China and Japan and Hong Kong China Women facing Kazakhstan and Thailand.
General ticket sales are now open, with prices unchanged for 2025. Three-day adult tickets cost HK$1,950 and three-day child tickets (ages three to 12 years) are $950. A limited number of Single-Day tickets are available via Klook with prices starting from $500.
