Cathay will complete its roll-out of Wifi to all flights by this summer

Cathay Pacific has announced it will be offering seatback entertainment and high-speed inflight Wifi on its entire fleet this summer.

“This significant milestone reflects Cathay’s long-standing commitment to and leadership in innovation and customer-centric design,” said customer experience design manager Guillaume Vivet, adding that he understood the importance Cathay passengers place on having “top-notch” entertainment and reliable connectivity when flying.

The inflight Wifi service will be available across all cabin classes but at an addtional charge to economy passengers. First and business customers and Cathay Diamond members will be able to use the services free of charge.

“Whether for business or leisure, our customers will soon have access to both award-winning entertainment and unparalleled connectivity on board all of our flights,” he added.

The airline introduced seatback entertainment for the first time in 1992 and launched 4K high-definition screens and broader colour range earlier this year. The curated entertainment library contains exclusive branded content.

It’s expected the Wifi roll-out to all flights will be completed this August.
